Church school gate
The foundation stone was laid in 1137, after which a Romanesque cruciform basilica was first built. The Gothic renovation began in the second quarter of the 13th century, during which the early Gothic choir was completely redesigned and the church was probably given its west facade after 1300. The triumphal cross made of oak wood (around 1268) is one of two monumental Cistercian crosses with painting that still exist in Europe.

The gothic house of 1516 was renovated from 1997 to 1999 by the foundation. The late Gothic building is a protected monument as part of the former Cistercian Abbey of Pforta.
