The clean millrace runs through the pumping station, not the toxic Burgfeyer Tunnel. What @Zimtstern's photos show is not the Burgfeyer Tunnel – that flows into the main channel of the Veybach stream 300 meters upstream of the pumping station. It discharges 50 tons of lead annually, prompting the North Rhine-Westphalia Minister for the Environment to recently approve a wastewater treatment plant.
