The granary is worth seeing. In summer you can also stop there. It is located on the traffic-calmed "Hauptstrasse" in the middle of the old town of Gernsbach.

The Kornhaus building was rebuilt after the last major fire in the city in 1798 according to plans by the Karlsruhe architect Friedrich Weinbrenner (1766-1826). Stone blocks from the tower at the Färbertor, one of the four medieval town gates of Gernsbach, were used. It is mentioned as early as 1471 as a department store for the grain and fruit market. Throughout its history, it has not only been the mayor's office, but also housed a large number of public institutions. Today it is leased.
