This bridge is a striking example of Roman architecture. The bridge has been modernized over time but its original structure has never been affected. In fact, its shape of a donkey's back is noticeable.

This imposing building stands on the Via Traiana, and in the past it represented the connection between the ancient Canusium and the Daunia, across the Ofanto river. The original structure, in the shape of a donkey's back, rests on a work made of oak wood covered with concrete. A super-tested work that, although altered over time, has never been affected in its original form. The Roman Bridge, an extraordinary example of Roman architecture, is made up of five round arches, supported by enormous spire-shaped pillars.
