Vandring
The church village is still in use today, especially for Midsummer Day. In the past, two major church festivals were celebrated: the Spring Festival in early June and the Autumn Festival in early September.
These festivals coincided with the seasonal migrations of the Sami people, who were traveling to and from their summer camps in the Kalfjället Mountains.

Vandring
The settlement of Fatmomakke was of great importance to the Sami even before the settlement of Lapland. Gradually, many cottages were built around the church, which were occupied by the widely scattered population for church festivals.
