I tried part of it with 1.5” (38 mm) tires without a fully loaded tour bike. I sank in a bit and it was not easy. Fully loaded I doubt I could have done any. I wouldn’t attempt it with anything less than 2” (51 mm) tires. The fatter the tire the better.

Although if the tide is at its lowest point, you can pedal with any wheel, the recommendation is: the wider the better!
