The Ammerland wall hedges are valuable components of the cultural landscape. They characterize the Ammerland park landscape and run through the intensively used land like lifelines. Wall hedges were originally created as living fences and to demarcate property. They provide a habitat for a large number of wild animal and plant species.

Unfortunately, the highlight has not been named correctly. This is the landscape window of hedgerows. This window was set up, as well as the other 4 landscape windows in Ammerland as branch offices for the 2002 State Garden Show.

The landscape windows were built as a "branch" of the State Garden Show 2002 in Bad Zwischenahn. There are 5 landscape windows distributed over the Ammerland, all of which are of course a highlight in Komoot:
Apen: water - tower of a dike judge (komoot.de/highlight/115752)
Edewecht: Mühlen - tower of a dreamer (komoot.de/highlight/113930)
Rastede: Geestrand - tower of a painter (komoot.de/highlight/115419)
Westerstede: Rhododendron - tower of a Rhodo queen (komoot.de/highlight/113926)
