Initially there was only one well next to the church. This was certainly also used by the first two-class Selmer School (1833 - 1960), which was located behind it. In 1891, riparians discussed whether a pump should be installed to reduce water pollution and prevent possible accidents. The subsequently built pump was destroyed on Good Friday 1945. In 1991, in memory of the "Old Village Pump" on the site of a new pump, built by the Friends of Customs at the home club Selm, and supplemented in 1993 to the children group.
