In the place where the municipality of Zibido San Giacomo stands today there were once numerous distinct villages. For this reason the municipality has many hamlets and localities. The main center of Zibido San Giacomo is the ancient town that bears the same name. This municipality has always been based on 2 distinct villages: Zibido and San Giacomo. The first village is the older of the two. Zibido dates back to the era of the Lombards, in fact the Lombard tribe of the Gepids resided on its territory
