San Nicolás de Bari attracts visitors from all over the world who come to admire its architecture and Gothic art. The church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra, also known as Saint Nicholas of Bari, who was a 4th-century bishop in what is now modern Turkey.
It was built in the Gothic style between the 13th and 14th centuries. One of its most outstanding features is its impressive collection of altarpieces, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. They feature intricate carvings and elaborate paintings, and are considered some of the best examples of Gothic art in Asturias.
