Neustadt - town square with town houses that are well worth seeing; on the central axis of the Hercules fountain, the old smithy and the dominating salt house (also called Marstall); the latter built in 1511 as a three-storey building; served i.a. as an armoury, horse stable and granary; Extension in 1572 to four floors; 1730 installation of a mansard roof with five additional floors; since the 19th century it has been used as an administration building, theater and museum storeroom and municipal archive; Completely renovated in 1997, today a branch of the Görlitz District Office;
