Up until the end of the 19th century in the Czech lands, theater was mostly performed in the halls of the town hall or inns. Only the largest cities could afford a representative theater building. It was not until the beginning of the 20th century that numerous other Czech towns also had theaters built: for example the most important Czech car town, Mladá Boleslav / Jungbunzlau. A magnificent city theater was built on the site of the well-known Škoda works 100 years ago. The milestone birthday was celebrated last Saturday.
