The "Must See" in Shanghai. The impressive colonial buildings on the Puxie side and then the breathtaking view of the skyline (Pudong) of Shanghai.

The bund runs directly along the Huangpu River and is mostly populated in the morning by joggers and other people who pursue their sporting activities.
Many also fly kites here in the morning. You have to be careful not to run into the cords.
But if you can peel yourself out of bed in time, you should take advantage of the somewhat pleasant temperatures and go for a little jogging round. Then you can do it even in July, even if you get sweaty due to the high humidity.
The views and views more than make up for it!
