If you ask the local community about the symbols of the city (places that are associated with the city), one of the first things that would pop up is the Kok Tobe TV Tower (or sometimes called Almaty Tower), located on Kok Tobe Hill. It is one of the tallest TV towers in the world - 371.5 m above sea level. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter the tower to enjoy the view from above as the tower is still operational.

On the southeastern spur of the mountain is the Almaty TV Tower, renovated in 2001 and 372 meters high; it is the tallest structure in the city.

From the car park it is about 120 meters above sea level, but in summer heat it is better to take the cable car.
