Great views over the harbor, and next door is a gift shop by the totem poles. These alone are worth a visit.

In the late 19th century, Vancouver grew into a bustling city with increasing shipping traffic to and from Burrard Inlet. The Prospect Point Lighthouse at the First Narrows had guided shipping to Vancouver since 1888. However, its light was obscured by the dense forest of Stanley Park, blocking the view for outgoing vessels.
Therefore, in 1890, a rudimentary light consisting of red and white lanterns was installed on a mast at Brockton Point, two kilometers east of Prospect Point, to mark the turn towards the First Narrows for departing ships and towards Coal Harbour for arriving ships.
