A short detour from the C34 (south of Henties Bai) leads to the beach, where the abandoned wreck is still clearly visible in the surf. There are almost always numerous sea birds sitting on the deck. The rusty remains have been lying here since 2008. The old fishing trawler was actually supposed to be scrapped in India.

Along the coast, hundreds of shipwrecks near the shore and on the beach bear witness to this. The name "Skeleton Coast" was coined by the writer John Henry Marsh; he used it as the title of his 1944 book about the MV Dunedin Star, which sank off the coast in 1941. Previously, San had called it "the land that God created in anger" and Portuguese sailors had called it "the gates of hell". Source: Wikipedia
