Superb panoramic view of the meanders of the Ourthe.
A walking path of about 1.5 km runs over the historic ramparts. You will notice for yourself that this fortress was impregnable. The Celtic settlement of about 14 hectares was largely protected by steep rock walls and wooden structures and double ramparts of earth and slate were built on the less steep parts.

Vandring
Le Chesle is an ancient Gallo-Roman fortress located near the village of Herlinval. In this fortress, the inhabitants of surrounding villages could find protection in times of war. Archaeological excavations have revealed many remains, such as cisterns, ramparts, towers, and also the site of an old mill. Even today you can see indentations in the rocky ground, many small holes, which served to secure the support posts of the wooden huts. At the tourist office in Ortho you can get more information about this attraction.
