The cycling road between Milan and Abbiategrasso is following the water canal and it's very easy to ride. On weekends there are many people so you cannot drive very fast, but it is also nice to see them outside.

Between Milan and Abbiategrasso the asphalt is almost always excellent.
On weekends there are lots of people but you can still pedal well.
Be careful when changing sides in Gaggiano: it is not well marked and you risk going straight and ending up on the main road. If there are other cyclists, do what they do!
