Vandring
Bronze figure by Fritz During.
On the lakeside of Plön Castle, Fritz During's "Large Woman Seated in the Sun" squats on a large boulder. This seated female nude presents the figure with her legs bent and crossed over her head. Her face is turned sideways, upwards, toward the sun. In addition to the sensual and relaxed depiction, the focus here is primarily on the formal structure—the beauty of the lines the eye can follow. The body is slightly stylized and has highly smoothed surfaces.
