The church was built in the 16th century. In the 18th century, a wooden or half-timbered tower was added to it. The church was destroyed at the end of World War II and then abandoned and unused. Only fragments of the perimeter walls have survived to this day. The church is planned to be reconstructed, but so far, the work has only involved securing the walls from further erosion and clearing the area.
