Quimper, the historic capital of the Cornouaille, is today the cultural, political and economic center of the department of Finistère. Worth seeing in the city center are the historic old town with its many half-timbered houses, some of them from the 16th and 17th centuries, the Cathédrale Saint-Correntin and the Musée des Beaux Arts. Quimper is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Brittany. And rightly so, I think. The soaring spiers of the Saint-Corentin Cathedral dominate the medieval old town - you can see them from almost anywhere. If you stroll through the streets or along the Odet, you will quickly discover the three hearts that beat in Quimper: the heart of the gourmet city, that of the shopping city and that of the cultural city.

Vandring
The center with its small shops, cafes, crepe stands and restaurants has a nice atmosphere. Very overcrowded with tourists during the school holidays, otherwise definitely a must during a holiday in Brittany.
