Saint Anthony is the patron saint of Ladenburg. The chapel, which was destroyed several times in the 17th century, hosted the first Protestant service in Ladenburg in 1553. In 1809, the hospital was relocated to the Schriesheim Gate before being sold along with the chapel in 1810.
