The first mill was already mentioned 1000 years ago. In the 17th century the scarlet fever was brought in to have more water. Burned down twice in 1845 and 1847. In 1836 the miller Josef Müller enlarged the canal from the Scharlach, now 800l/sec. Josef Grotz bought the mill in 1867, and then in 1874 a sawmill was added. Son Johann took over the mill in 1901, followed by his son Sylvest in 1937. He raised the mill and turned it into an art mill. Today the mill is no longer in operation, a transformer generates electricity.
