The most striking structure in the park is the Triumphal Arch (French: Arcades du Cinquantenaire), which was completed in 1905. The arch is a monument to Belgian independence and consists of three equal arches with a bronze statue above the central arch representing Brabant on a chariot.

It is east of the Cinquantenaire Park, the most emblematic part of which is the Triumphal Arch, topped by a bronze quadriga reminiscent of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
This palace was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of Belgium as an independent nation. The building currently houses three museums: the Museum of the Army and Military History, the Cinquantenaire Museum and Autoworld, a major exhibition of cars from all eras.
