    Salern Palace was built around 1280 by Bishop Bruno as a summer residence. The castle fell into disrepair in the 17th century. Today's ruin can be easily reached on foot from Vahrn via the Kneipp facility on the Schalter Bach and the Carl-Toldt-Weg.
