It is the first church in the land of Forino, located on the hill where the feudal castle once stood. The building, in its original layout, dates back to the fourteenth century, we already know of it in the year 1309 and, probably, it was built before the year 1000 by the Byzantines in honor of S. Nicola.
The current appearance is due to the continuous restorations that were made necessary as a result of the destruction caused by the numerous earthquakes.
