Despite the devastation and mutilation suffered over the centuries, Montreuil-sur-Mer also stands out for the atmosphere that reigns in its many picturesque streets, witnesses of a rich medieval past. At the bend of these streets, you will not be without meeting some walkers in search of escape who have come to seek out the romantic atmosphere of the rue du "Clape-en-haut", who prefer the summer activity of the craft stalls of the rue du "Clape-en-bas" or simply follow in the footsteps of Victor Hugo in the famous "Cavee Saint-Firmin".
