On the occasion of the 100th birthday of aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal, born on 23 May 1848 in Anklam, a museum was opened in 1991. On display are planned and realized projects from the early history of aviation as well as a complete collection of Lilienthal aircraft designs and test facilities. Various experimental setups allow the visitor to fathom the phenomenon of flying.
