    Cykling

You get a nice view of the river here, and could even park your bike and hop on a river cruise if you like. But the best thing about River Road (just south of you) is that it connects cycle-friendly paths on the north and south sides of I-80.

What is the historical significance of the Missouri River visible from this viewpoint?

The Missouri River, the nation's longest, has a rich history spanning over 12,000 years. It was vital for sustenance and transportation for numerous Native American groups, and later became a primary route for the westward expansion of the United States in the 19th century. Explorers, fur traders, and pioneers all relied on its waters, making it a crucial artery in American history.

Are there any specific landmarks or natural features to look out for besides the river and bridge?

While the primary focus is the majestic Missouri River and the prominent bridge, the viewpoint is situated within the Great Plains region. This offers expansive views of the surrounding landscape, which can include various bird species along the riverbanks. The river itself, with its dynamic flow, is a significant natural feature to observe.

What are the parking options for visitors arriving by car at the View of the Missouri River and Bridge from River Road?
