The Church of Saint-André, known as the Templars, was built between the 12th and 13th centuries.
It was only later that the ramparts were built to protect the inhabitants of Luz from Spanish attacks.
If the church still occupies a central place in the city, it also seems to play a role in the sky. Indeed, this monument is a marvelous observation site for those who want to see falcons and kites. The two birds of prey have taken up residence in the towers of the building.

I followed in the footsteps of the imperial couple, the The Emperor Napoleon III and Eugénie, starting at the Town Square/Hall, passing by the Solférino chapel and leading to the Napoleon's bridge. You will pass emblematic places and see the beautiful landscapes that surround Luz-Saint-Sauveur.

The road up to Luz Ardiden has shaded areas in the first sections. You'll find well engineered mountain roads that are heaven for road cyclists.
