The prayer, the same reported at the Foiba di Basovizza, also stands out on the monument positioned at the end of Foiba 149, in a wood on the edge of the town of Opicina. Another plaque, placed to the side, reads: "The Istrians, Fiumani, Dalmati to their fallen".

It is difficult not to feel a shiver run down your spine when faced with these macabre monuments that commemorate what happened in the immediate post-war period between the mid and late 1940s.
