The octagonal Johannes-von-Nepomuk-Kapelle in Nordkirchen was built in 1722 by the architects Gottfried Laurenz Pictorius and Peter Pictorius the Elder. J. built. The client was Ferdinand von Plettenberg, whose coat of arms is above the door, a minister of the Prince-Bishop of Münster.

The Nepomuk Chapel, now the War Memorial Chapel, was built in 1722 by the Pictorius brothers (owned by the municipality since 1922). It is the final resting place of Count Maximilian Friedrich von Plettenberg (died 1813) and the heart of his son, Walter Oskar (died 1808).
Open from May 1st to November 30th, every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
