I did this from Ozleworth. "Road"? You're having a laugh! Would probably work better as a descent due to the ruts at the beginning being so deep it's almost impossible to avoid pedal strikes in places. However, it is worth persevering as things improve. The main part of the climb is initially a toughie, but easier than "The Red House Climb" and relents to a superb gravel track and eventually tarmac. If you like technical tracks and challenging climbs, this is for you, but might be a bit of a nightmare in winter.

This works really well as a descent. There are some sections that were too technical for me so I walked but many would manage on their bike. Towards the end the ruts get really deep. I did this in the summer but post rain, and it gets very very muddy. Great fun though.

Some of the ruts are too deep to navigate without pedal striking. The whole descent is a bit on the techy side for me. I'll be trying the bridleway on the other side next.
