A steep climb, but definitely worth it! The pictures do not do the sight there justice. To get to the top you need to climb up along some chains in the rock. Not for people with fear of heights, but adventurous and worth it.

Vandring

Yes, the steep climb up the former rock castle is definitely worth it. However, you should be careful going downhill, as the basalt is easily slippery when wet.

If you like, you can climb the last few meters to the summit from the viewpoint with a little help from your hands (iron chain). A pair of peregrine falcons nest there, so this upper section is closed in spring until mid-June.

From the Vrabinec rock (Vrabín, or Sperlingstein in German), where the remains of Sperlingstein Castle, built in the late 14th century by the Lords of Techlovice, still stand, there is a beautiful view of the surrounding area and the Elbe Valley.

The most famous owner of the then almost impregnable Sperlingstein Castle was Sigismund von Wartenberg, a loyal follower of the king, a fierce fighter against the Hussites, and at that time one of the most powerful men in Bohemia.
