The church was moved to its present location in the years 1937–1939, from nearby Przyszowice.
The date of the church's foundation cannot be clearly determined - church chronicles and some publications indicate the year of construction as 1640, others more generally date it to the 17th century. There are also opinions that the church was built in 1720, and even in 1737, although the latter date probably refers only to the year of the tower's construction.
The church was consecrated in its present place on December 16, 1939, but the parish was not established until December 20, 1957.
