The Kempense Heuvelrug is a remnant of land dunes that were formed when the sea retreated. The core of this narrow, elongated hump is 15 kilometers long and connects the communities of Retie, Kasterlee, Herentals, Lille, Vorselaar and Grobbendonk with the associated dune areas.
You will find extensive coniferous forests here, interspersed with heaths, moors and sunken paths. If you look closely, you will discover rare animals and plants.
