How wonderful it is to be able to drive here, it's something magical about it, and then the wilderness begins. A pleasure of the highest order! Since I had already seen the photo on Komoot, I knew what to expect. But... it was even more beautiful!!!

I have been wondering for a long time why the trail was called Suonen. Suonen are the historical irrigation canals of the Valais. And here on this trail, about halfway through, part of the stream water is diverted into an open canal and carries water for irrigation into the village. And we drive right next to this irrigation canal until the end of the trail.
