Kandy - what a city! The lively city is situated between tea hills, rice fields and forests. Sri Lanka's longest river, the Mahaweli, also flows around the city. Due to its location in the centre of the island, Kandy is a little cooler in comparison to the lowlands, and with an average of 24°C it is much more pleasant than the hot coastal regions. Definitely a must see when in Sri Lanka!
