The former Imperial District Court was completed in 1902. The tower is from 1945. Today the building is the summer residence of the Namibian President.

There are 2 courthouses in Swakopmund: the Imperial District Court and the Old District Court. The Imperial District Court is by the lighthouse, the Old District Court on Tobias Hainyeko Street. The pictures show the old district court.
