Simonstown with Boulders Beach is sheltered in False Bay, where in the early days the sailing ships liked to get lost (fatally they thought they were already around the cape) and were lost in the storm, because the south wind was merciless here blows in and the ships stuck in the dead end. The good thing is that the sea here is a good 5 degrees warmer than on the outside of the Cape Peninsula. You can see people bathing here and the penguins also like the better climatic conditions here, although they can really endure a lot.
