De Poppelaer forest is the perfect base for a walk through the landscape of the Brechtse Heide. Here you will find forests, dirt roads, fens and agricultural fields. Walk in the 1700 hectare protected nature reserve that extends over the municipalities of Brecht, Schilde, Malle and Zoersel. A striking element in the flat landscape of is the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Nazareth, popularly known as the Trappistine Abbey.
