The history of the church in Groß Breesen dates back to the 14th century. First, the demolition of the dilapidated nave, which had a medieval half-timbered building. Artisans built now according to Christian tradition on the medieval foundations of the new church. Perfect in east-west orientation. A massive tower replaced the old wooden church tower 30 years later. So that the believers in the double-storey galleries had enough light, they chose the romantic arched windows. Flanking stair towers and the south porch were built in 1883.
