The Château de Santenay, also known as the Château de Philippe le Hardi, is both a place to taste very good Burgundy wines at an affordable price, and a historic place connected to the Dukes of Courgogne. The château has ninety hectares of wine-growing property and produces, in particular, first growths at low prices compared to Pommards or Volnay, located further north. What a beautiful château with the typical glazed roof tiles. It dates from the 11th century. The park is completely renovated and freely accessible. You can see some artworks. At the entrance are 2 plane trees, which come from the investigation during the tree care from the 15th century. Really great specimens.
