On the southern outskirts of Tannenberg you can see the Chapel of St. Joseph, the patron saint of Tannenberg, in a wonderful location. It was built in 1774 and shows ceiling paintings by the painter Franz Xaver Bernhard von Eggenthal. The chapel is only open sporadically. At the back of the chapel there is a nice rest area (with seating) from which you have a wonderful view of the Ostallgäuer and Ammergau mountains up to the Zugspitze.
