This impressive Renaissance complex was built in the 16th century on the foundations of a medieval castle to secure the Saxon border.
Today it is Germany's only preserved fortification surrounded by such a mighty earthen wall.
On the tour of the fortress you will discover secret passages, the powder tower and a cleverly planned fortress portal that was not so easy to conquer.
In the castle, exciting exhibitions invite you to take a journey through time through the history of the city, country and industry in Senftenberg and Lusatia.
