The recreation area, designed in the English landscape style, stretches from the Parkring in the 1st district to the Heumarkt in the 3rd district. The Wien river divides the Stadtpark into two halves, bridge structures such as the iron Karolinenbrücke connect the two parts.

The terrace of the Kursalon is ideal for a coffee break (daily from March to mid-September from 11 a.m.). Balls and clubbing also take place in this building, built in 1867 in the Italian Renaissance style by Johann Garben. It is located in the area of the corner of Parkring - Johannesgasse.
The -Meierei- is a villa-like building on the Wien river and was opened in 1903 as a milk drinking hall. Today you can find the Restaurant Steirereck with one of the finest kitchens in Vienna.
