Cykling
After the rafts came the railways - in 1894 the time had come and the timber trade was completely shifted to the railways. From 1900 passenger traffic followed. The rail bus exhibited here, popularly known as the "Red Brummer", was only used from the middle of the 20th century. Rail buses replaced steam locomotives in passenger transport and were mostly powered by two powerful diesel engines. You can book a guided tour at the Schiltach Tourist Info so that you can also admire the interior of the small railway museum.

The history of the Schiltach railway is depicted on a remnant of the former railway line to Schramberg. A particularly eye-catcher is an exemplary restored rail bus. Not only interesting for railway enthusiasts.

Museum-prepared rail bus type VT98 "Roter Brummer", as it used to be on the Kinzig Valley Railway and the branch line to Schramberg. The neighboring steel truss railway bridge bears witness to the latter.
