Perhaps the capital of Alta Valtellina and home to the Alpine Ski World Championships in 1985 and 2005, Bormio is one of the most famous tourist resorts in Italy, both in winter and in summer. Seven times home to a stage finish of the Giro d'Italia, Bormio is the meeting point of four valleys: Valdidentro, Valfurva, Valle del Braulio and Valdisotto.

Bormio is a town located at 1225m above the sea. It's known for it's ski center and thermal baths. Alpine skiing world cup visits Bormio each year and the World Ski Championships were hosted by the town in 1985 and 2005. Bormio lies beneath Stelvio pass and the climb starts here.

Bormio is located in the Stelvio National Park, at 1,225 meters above sea level. In the center of the Rhaetian Alps, in the heart of Alta Valtellina, this town is famous for its ski resorts and its Roman thermal baths. The famous climb of the Stelvio Pass starts from Bormio, as well as those of Gavia and Mortirolo.
