Vandring
The U-434 was 26 years in the service of the Russian Navy, until April 2002. After a short contract negotiations for Russian conditions, it was purchased by the U-Boat Museum Hamburg GmbH. The U-434 is one of the last submarines in the Tango class worldwide. There were probably 20 of them, 3 of which belonged to a special series, including the U-434.

The Oevelgönne Museum Harbour (MHOe) e.V. operates a harbour for historic ships at the Neumühlen ferry terminal. These ships are either owned by the MHOe itself, belong to private owners, or are maintained by associations. The museum harbour's fleet includes:

The approximately 90-meter-long Russian submarine U-434 is moored at the Hamburg Fish Market. This former hunting and spy submarine is one of the longest non-nuclear submarines in the world and offers a family-friendly experience combining history and technology.

The construction costs for this Tango-class submarine amounted to approximately US$110,000,000. The "U-434" remained in active service with the Russian Navy until April 2002.
