It was rebuilt in 1589. The nave (35.7 m long / 7.80 m wide), a simple hall building (built in 1710), with a semi-circular half-timbered choir (half a decagon) dates from the 18th century. Between 1970 and 1988 the church was closed due to lack of maintenance.
With the fall of the Berlin Wall the church was made accessible to everyone again.
